Bipolar disorder in young people often show atypical features like psychotic symptoms. Obviously antipsychotic medications seem the best choice to treat the acute phase but it is well known that it might induce destabilization and depressogenic effect. This speech will focus on antipsychotic treatment counterindications in maintenance therapy of early bipolar disorder.
